Republican integration process
You do not need to take any specific action.
Requests to sign the Republican Integration Contract (CIR) are forwarded to the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII) by the prefectural authorities.
Once OFII receives the request, it sends your appointment notice directly to you.
OFII training courses are free of charge. However, the civic test and French language certifications must be paid for by the user.
For more information, please visit the pages Civic Training and Language Training with OFII.
The civic test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions covering French rights, duties, values and culture. You must achieve 80% correct answers to pass. The test costs approximately €90 and must be paid for by the user.
OFII’s four civic training days help prepare you for the test. You can continue your preparation on the website formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr, which also provides information on how to register for the exam.
At the end of your language course, you must take the A2 language certification. It is required to obtain a multi-year residence permit and serves as official proof of your French language level.
You must take the certification at an approved testing centre. The list of approved centres is available on france-education-international.fr.
The certification must be taken at an approved centre and is paid for by the user.
The certificate of attendance must be provided by your training organisation.

If you cannot find the invitation email, contact your local OFII office and ask for it to be resent.
