During the appointment at the single-desk contact point (GUDA), the French Office for Immigration and Integration (Ofii) may offer material welcome conditions, which include a financial allowance and possibly accommodation.

Am I entitled to accommodation and allowance?

To benefit from the material reception conditions provided as part of the asylum application process, you must:

  • Have accepted the offer of care and support by the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII);
  • Hold a valid asylum application certificate;
  • Send your OFPRA application within 21 days (for applicants in the normal or accelerated procedure).

What are the accomodation and the allowance (ADA) ?

If you are looking for an accommodation, the OFII can offer you a place in an accommodation centre for asylum seekers.
A train ticket is provided to take you to the accommodation designated by the OFII.

If you do not accept this accommodation, no other alternative will be offered to you and you will lose your entitlement to asylum seeker's allowance.

If the OFII is unable to offer you accommodation, you will be referred to a first reception structure for asylum seekers (SPADA), where you can receive administrative, legal and social support, as well as a residence address for your mail.

The Asylum Seeker's Allowance (Ada) is a subsistence allowance paid by the Ofii to asylum seekers. The OFII will provide you with a payment card (ADA Card).

The amount of the ADA varies depending on the applicant's resources, the composition of his family and his accommodation conditions.

The first ADA payment is made on a payment card 30 to 45 days after the opening of the material reception conditions (CMA).
