Documents and translation to provide

To properly prepare your family reunification file, start by gathering all the necessary documents.

You will need to provide information about yourself, your spouse, your children, your home, your resources and supporting documents to prove your situation.

Consult the Service public page to find out which documents are required based on your specific circumstances.

All your documents must be translated into French.

The translation must be done by a translator certified by a Court of Appeal in France. The list of approved translators is available on the courdecassation.fr website. Translation from other institutions are not accepted.

Online submitting

If you submit your application online, you will fill in information about your personal situation and the necessary documents will be requested throughout the process. For example, you will start by providing information about your civil status.

You will also receive specific guidance on which documents are required and where to obtain them.

File verification

Once you have submitted your application online or by post, the French Office of Immigration and Integration (OFII) will check that it is complete. If a document or piece of information is missing, the OFII may ask you for additional documents needed to process your application.

The OFII will send you a letter containing the list of missing documents and information. This list will also be available in the follow-up of your request.

Find out more about online submission in the Family reunification page.
