The republican integration program is intended for newcomers from non-EU countries who wish to settle permanently in France and who have obtained a first residence permit.

It begins with the signature of a republican integration contract (CIR) and continues with support actions on the territory.

Step 1: Validate your visa online when you arrive in France

Did the French consulate issue you a Long-Stay Visa Equivalent to a Residence Permit (VLS-TS) with one of the following mentions: private and family life or Ceseda R431-16 6°?

You must validate it online on the Administration for Foreign Nationals in France website.

Step 2: Send a copy of your passport to OFII

Send copies of all pages of your passport, indicating your family reunification application number.

Step 3: Attend the welcome interview

You will receive an invitation to this mandatory appointment.

During this meeting, you will sign the Republican Integration Contract (CIR). By signing it, you agree to respect the values of the French Republic and to attend any training courses prescribed by OFII.

Keep your contract in a safe place. It is required when renewing your residence permit.

Step 4: Attend the civic and language training courses

You must attend a 4-day civic training course. This training is mandatory.

Depending on your level of French, OFII may also prescribe French language courses, which are not mandatory.

At the end of the training, you must take a civics assessment and a language certification test.

Step 5: Renew your residence permit

You can then apply to renew your residence permit with the prefecture.
