The health check-up is a free and confidential medical appointment. It takes place at the French Office of Immigration and Integration (OFII) and is not mandatory.

What is the health check-up?
The health check-up is a medical appointment with an OFII doctor to assess your health (and that of your family if you are accompanied). This appointment lasts about 1 hour.
It allows you to undergo a comprehensive health assessment and identify any potential health issues. If necessary, you will be referred to healthcare professionals for treatment.
During the appointment, you will meet with a nurse and a doctor.
Medical confidentiality is absolute.
This means that if you are of legal age, your personal medical information will be shared only with you and no one else—not even your family. If you do not speak French, an interpreter will be available to assist you during this process.
Here is what the appointment will cover:
- General physical exam
- Adult vaccinations (DTP, MMR, Hepatitis B)
- Screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C
- Discussion about mental health
- Tuberculosis screening
- Referral to healthcare professionals if necessary
- Telephone interpreter available in your native language
At the end of the appointment, the OFII doctor will provide you with a written report. This report is confidential; you are the only one who will receive it.
If your health requires specialized care, the OFII doctor will write a referral letter for a general practitioner or a specialist..
Who is concerned?
The health screening is offered during the appointment with OFII to the following individuals:
- Asylum seekers who have been in France for less than 4 months
- Individuals who have signed the Republican Integration Contract (CIR), refugees, or beneficiaries of international or subsidiary protection:
- You do not speak French
- You do not have a diploma from your country of origin
- You have not seen a doctor since your arrival in France
You can request a health appointment even if you have already made appointments with OFII. To do so, contact your local OFII office.
