Tips for Organizing Your Departure
Reading : 4 minutes
You have applied for voluntary return assistance through the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII). OFII will help you organize your trip.

How does the journey take place?
As part of the voluntary return process, your trip is organized with the help of an OFII advisor. You must present your passport to them. If you do not have one, they can help you obtain a travel document.
OFII covers the cost of your airline ticket and transportation from your home to the airport.
On the day of departure, you must arrive at the airport on time. Be sure to check your travel document or ticket the day before.
An OFII agent will meet you at the designated meeting point in the airport and will tell you where to check in your luggage.
The OFII agent will accompany you to the boarding area. They will give you a code that allows you to collect your financial assistance upon arrival in your country of return.
The amount of assistance varies depending on your situation and your country of return.
Depending on your destination country, you may have a connecting flight.
Upon arrival, you can withdraw the financial assistance in cash using the code provided in the boarding area and your identity document.
In addition to return assistance, OFII may offer support for professional reintegration. Depending on your project, OFII can assist you with settling in, finding employment, or starting a business.
Once you arrive, you may contact the local OFII office or its local partner organization.
Some advice for you and your accompanying family members
Make sure you bring a valid travel document (passport or travel pass).
Your luggage

Your luggage must not exceed the weight limit. It must be within the specified dimensions and securely closed.
Check your baggage allowance
The number and weight of the bags you are allowed to bring are indicated in the notice provided by OFII before departure. The allowance depends on your destination and the airline. Make sure your luggage does not exceed these limits.
Prohibitions

It is prohibited to bring liquids, aerosols, or sharp objects into the cabin.
Your electronic devices (laptop or tablet) must not be in your checked baggage.
Notifications to OFII

Notify OFII of any specific needs (meals, medication, medical devices, wheelchair, etc.). If you are taking medication, bring your prescription in case you need medical assistance during the flight.
Notify OFII in advance if you wish to bring a pet.
Once you arrive, how is the reintegration project implemented?
The individual meeting organized with your OFII advisor helps identify your needs and determine the level of reintegration support best suited to your situation. OFII offers three different levels of assistance, described on the reintegration assistance page.
As soon as your project is approved by OFII, you will receive support in planning, implementing, and monitoring it. OFII provides follow-up support for 6 months for social reintegration assistance; 1 year for employment assistance or business creation support (following approval by the selection committee).
Reintegration assistance is not provided in cash. Instead, the local operator purchases the goods and services needed for your project directly from suppliers. This may include medication, vocational training, or equipment and materials required to launch your future business.
